(Probably good uses for that to transcribe fast solos too). It get stretched or squashed to maintain a new tempo. The pitch doesn't change when you move the BPM in the DAW up or down. Hit trigger again and it overdubs the solo. You can set up a good guitar rig on an AUM or AB stream and rout it through Enso and record some number of preset measures and it drops into Play Loop mode to practice solos over. I've found it more productive to record guitar chords into a looper pedal instead, in time with a metronome, then work on lines while the looper plays.Ī new AUv3 App called Enso reeled this week and it's perfect for this use case. I don't rely on it for jazz guitar practice, as I've found it more productive to record guitar chords into a looper pedal instead, in time with a metronome, then work on lines while the looper said: That said, I rely on iReal Pro quite a bit for violin practice. Sometimes the wrong tones in the chord are altered, which can make a big difference if one is trying to practice lines built on the altered (Super Locrian) scale. One weakness of iReal Pro is how it generated altered dominant chords. I gave up the idea after a while because you have to jump through some hoops to get Notion to play back the bass, drums, and chords as separate parts like iReal Pro does. I exported iReal Pro charts into Notion with the intention of composing jazz etudes to practice on violin or guitar. I thought it was a universal feature always there but in some testing it seems that earlier users of GB cannot get MIDI import to work whereas IOS 12+ can do it. Sorry, I should have said "And now you can IMPORT MIDI files into GarageBand". I guess the power of weed knows no said:Īnd now you can export the MIDI files into GarageBand to get rid of the rather horrible on-board sounds.Īnd "now"? iReal Pro has had MIDI export for several years, not just now Hip hop dude was somehow convinced he could used HarmoGnome as a beat making tool or even a DAW. I'm reminded of a conversation I had with this aspiring hip hop producer guy about HarmoGnome, another app created for practice, not making records - created in fact by a violin player for his personal practice. BIAB admittedly simulates this more effectively than iReal Pro, partly by using samples of real musicians, but it's still going to sound like a simulation rather than the real thing. Jazz is all about the ongoing conversation between the drummer, bassist, etc. This is a genre where you want to use real instruments and players as much as possible, it's not like techno. That's because it's designed as a practice tool for instrumentalists, not for making records. to the best of my knowledge no one ever has as of yet. ![]() ![]() I can’t see using BITB on an actual record though. If it's your cup of tea, then the UltraPack (shipped on a harddisk) is what you want. The entry version of BiaB is just that, an entry to check the software out. In the Jazz or Country domain it's almost a no-brainer, but PG Music opened up to modern styles a lot in recent years. It's only worth the effort if you consider sounds and styles fitting your ideas. The Realtrack/Drum approach is very close to recording real people playing - it's close to impossible to achieve the same with traditional sample libraries, let alone within the same amount of time.īiaB in fact looks like a piece of shite on screen - and it definitely has a learning curve. With any midi soundgenerator/sampler the software can still apply all it's (midi) style 'knowledge' on any midi file. You can create own 'style descriptions' which includes to teach BiaB your personal musical style. The audio quality is flawless with 1:10 compression, the 'audiophile edition' is uncompressed. These tracks are live studio recordings (length up to 10 Minutes) and are indexed (with extreme detail) in a way that you can turn a Swing performance into Reggae, Hardrock or whatever with 1 single mouseclick.ĭuring repeated playback of the same track the programm slightly alters it's performance like a human player would, and keeps the style according to genre/artist. The answer you got was correct in regard to amount of cash, but there's a huge difference of BiaB soundsets (called Realtracks and Realdrums) in comparison to regular sample sets. ![]() ![]() ![]()

So there you have it, our guide to a strategic approach to your Instagram grid layout so that when your audience lands on your profile, they see your stunning visual masterpiece and hit that follow button. In addition to making sure your content fits your grid, batch production will also ensure you have enough to be publishing once a day, or in line with the post frequency that you set. Like magazines, Instagram profiles tell a story over time. what value do they get? Treat your Instagram profile like a magazine – I’m not saying to have pictures of Brad and Angelina in every post or talk about what new diet is going gangbusters in Hollywood – but consider which of your content themes (or pillars) are best matched to Instagram. Of course, that’s followed by a tire iron, barrages of bullets, multiple knee blowouts, and at least one baseball bat through the eye. Right from the get-go, there are some pretty evil 3D images. Closely related to the E60 M5’s V10, it was lovely and rightly regarded as brilliant. The 4.0-litre V8 spun out a massive 309kW (420PS) at a stratospheric 8300rpm. Then came the E90 V8-powered machine with its carbon fibre roof, twin-clutch transmission to go alongside the manual and, oh, that noise. That was closely followed by a less hardcore M3 CS. ![]() Lighter (by a massive 110kg), harder and completely bonkers, there was a lot of the unruly E30 in it (yes, I have driven that, and may yet do so again…). The E46 also spawned the instant classic – the M3 CSL. The SMG still wasn’t that good or popular, but hey, BMW had to start somewhere. The E46’s inline six delivered 252kW (338PS) and 365Nm. Sticking with the straight six, it got heavier again but more powerful. It’s safe to say that this was not a popular move. The E36 is also famous for the introduction of the SMG single-clutch semi-automatic. The upgrade in 1996 that also brought the six-speed manual also offered a consoling 15Nm of torque, rising to 320Nm. Weirdly, the US and Canada had different engines to the European M3s, soldiering on with the 179kW (243PS) S52. That brought the car to life in a big way. Another reason for that was the power jump to 239kW (325PS). Thankfully, in 1996, a six-speed arrived along with extra torque with the move to 3.2-litres. But with that extra gear, it became a more flexible, more impressive car. ![]() That car was famous for top gear having a 1.0 ratio – that’s third gear on most cars from the time. Initially a controversial machine, the first version had a five-speed manual paired with a 3.0-litre in-line six. ![]() Hugely popular, it sold from 1992 to 1999. It was a very different car to the E30 – heavier, more luxurious, a bit more mainstream. The second M3 was the straight-six powered E36. The M3 world rages over which is the best. As the years went by, power went up from 143kW (195PS) to 160kW (220PS) in the EVO2 and finally, for a limited run, the 175kW (238PS) 2.5-litre EVO3. Powered by a four-cylinder engine from BMW Motorsport, the first M3 makes people who haven’t even driven it dewy-eyed. ![]() The first M3 was the two-door E30, a completely bonkers, benchmark-defining sports sedan. And it might be to do with all of the above. It’s difficult to say exactly what it is. Not just the revs – a lack of revs has become a fact of life – but something I’ve come to call “the spark” because I can’t really define it. Still do, but I will concede that there is a tiny something missing, something the V8 M3 had and the E46 M3 six before. The steering isn’t great, the turbo straight-six isn’t the V8 (oh, der), it’s heavy. There wasn’t a lot wrong with the new M4, but there were (and continue to be) complaints. And it looked amazing in the right colour and with the right wheels. High revving, naturally-aspirated and if you chose, a bit of luxury. The M4 replaced the V8 M3 Coupe which was a cracker of a car. Some years ago, BMW released the M4, which replaced the M3, which itself was replaced by the sedan-only M3.
